Zuckerberg Testimony Leaves Congress Wondering Libra Motives

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg spent six hours in front of Congress, but his testimony failed to adequately detail the key motivations for the company’s digital currency plan. So reports Forbes.

Zuckerberg was also asked about fact-checking and content moderation policies used by the social media company during his time with the House Committee on Financial Services. Rep. Warren Davidson had a number of questions, among other things, regarding the planned Libra cryptocurrency’s possible classification as a security, and chairwoman Maxine Waters used her opening statement to lambaste Facebook for failing to address its other “deficiencies” before moving forward with its Libra plan.
