Google Creates New Blockchain Team as it Looks to Diversify Business

Google is making a strong push into building blockchain applications and has formed a new working group toward that end. So reports CNBC.

Success in that area would enable Google to “further diversify away from advertising and become more prominent in the growing market for computing and storage services delivered from remote third-party data centers.” Among some of the sectors being targeted by Google’s cloud division are healthcare and retail, as these are both areas consumers have shown an affinity for blockchain services.
