“RegTech is now mission critical for financial institutions. Regulatory technology is disrupting processes, workloads, roles and responsibilities. RegTech solutions are impacting the way leaders manage financial institutions and radically changing the way professionals work in compliance, risk management, technology, operations and digital transformation,” according to the announcement from FinTech Global.

It fits around professional work commitments and meets key organizational learning objectives.”

RegTech has been a hot-button topic in recent months, as it is growing in importance and relevance as the finance and technology industries continue to bleed into each other. As such, new RegTech guidance was also recently handed down from the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) to help assist banks by providing detailed implementation and practice information. To that end, they launched the Regtech Adoption Practice Guide series, which was based off of a two-year “promotion roadmap” announced in November of 2020.

“Each Regtech Adoption Practice Guide focuses on a specific technology or application area identified in the HKMA’s White Paper to further Regtech adoption in the Hong Kong banking sector,” according to the monetary authority.

FNAThe first issue will deal with guidance related to “Cloud-based Regtech solutions,” notes the HKMA.
