MetLife Turns Back to Blockchain to Bolster Efficiency

MetLife will use the Ethereum blockchain to improve the efficiency and transparency of the life insurance claims process. So reports Forbes.

MetLife’s incubator LumenLab is working with Singapore Press Holdings and NTUC Income on the “Lifechain” platform to help determine if someone who died had a life insurance policy and, if so, automatically make a claim. MetLife has prior experience with blockchain technology as it piloted a mobile app called Vitana, which was used to pay out claims to expectant mothers with gestational diabetes.
