U.K. Hospital Group Now Tracking Vaccine Temperatures with Digital Ledger Tech

A hospital network in the U.K. is one of the first in the world to use digital ledger technology to track COVID-19 vaccine storage. So reports Fortune.

red cross 303433 640smallSouth Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust, which runs four central-England hospitals, is now using the Hedera Hashgraph system in order to track storage temperatures for COVID-19 vaccines.

“Accurately tracking the status and handling of vaccine doses is particularly crucial because the inoculations produced by Pfizer and Moderna must be kept at ultralow temperatures of –70 degrees Celsius (–94 Fahrenheit) until close to the time they are to be used, while the vaccine from AstraZeneca must be kept at normal refrigerator temperatures,” according to the article.
