Robinhood Taking Heat from Pols On Both Sides After GameStop Frenzy

As trading platforms like Robinhood have halted the buying of certain stocks like GameStop and AMC, politicians from both sides of the aisle have come out in opposition to the decision to stunt retail investors' ability to trade. So reports Yahoo! Finance.

RobinhoodIn what is shaping up as a battle between financial institutions and small investors, Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Rep Ro Khanna, both Democrats, alongside Sen. Ted Cruz and Donald Trump Jr., both Republicans, called out the trading platforms for their “unfair” treatment of their users. Hedge funds are still able to both buy and sell those stocks while retail investors are merely allowed only to sell out of their positions.
