Brazilian Neobank Creates App to Service Illiterate Users

Brazil’s alt.bank, which is hoping to service the nation’s vast underbanked community, has taken in $5.5 million in a recent funding round spearheaded by Union Square Ventures (USV). So reports TechCrunch.

brazil 3001462 640The company has placed a great emphasis on the social aspect of its offerings and in an effort to truly hone in on the country’s unbanked population has designed its app to be used by individuals who cannot read. “Instead of words, users can follow color-coded prompts to complete a transaction,” according to the article.
