The operation was jointly conducted by the Virtual Currency Response Team and the National Police of Ukraine. The seized sites helped users anonymously convert crypto assets into “harder-to-trace coins” in an effort to obscure the origin of ransomware funds. This helped cybercriminals “launder their pilfers without being traced by law enforcement.”
