Hackers lifted close to 120,000 coins in August of 2016, when the coins were trading at a fraction of what they are now, and the cryptocurrency exchange is offering to pay the hackers as well as anyone who can broker a meeting between the parties in order to get the Bitcoins back. Authorities recovered 27.6 of the stolen Bitcoins in February of 2019.
