Naturipe Farms Plans 'Vine-to-table' Blockchain Process

Naturipe Farms, a California-based farm, is hoping to use a vine-to-table blockchain process to improve transparency, reduce food waste, alleviate safety issues and improve freshness. So reports Waste360.

Shoppers will be able to use a QR code on packages of berries to see where they were grown and learn about the farm that grew them. The information cannot be altered, and only those with permission can see the data. Naturipe partnered with business software company SAP for the initiative.
