Blockchain technology will create $31 billion in food industry savings over the next five years. So reports CNBC.

The figure, borne of a Juniper Research report, will help the industry fight fraud. Blockchain, combined with sensors and trackers from the “internet of things,” will help bring down costs though streamlining supply chains, simpler compliance and more efficient food recalls.
