LA Sheriff’s Warn of Crypto Scams, Reports Nearly $8M in Recent Losses

After a rash of cryptocurrency-related crimes, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has issued a warning to residents. So reports KTLA.

Victims reported nearly $8 million in losses since January of 2021, noted the department, with many scams coming via text, tweet and email. Authorities have advised anyone who believes they were victimized to report the matter to their local law enforcement agency and contact the FBI’s internet crime complaint center.
